The Green Island Lighthouse was built in 1939 during the Japanese colonial period, and is located in Zhongliao Village on the northwest cape of Green Island, adjacent to Bitou Cape. The tower is 33.3 meters high, with the appearance of a white cylindrical building, the Green Island Lighthouse is attributed to the U.S. cruise ship "President Hoover" in December 26th of the Republic of China in the vicinity of Green Island, the U.S. government in order to commemorate the loss of the cruise ship and to maintain the safety of maritime navigation, it was donated to the island the following year to build this lighthouse.
